WELCOME!

i made this carrd to not only share widgy widgets i've made, but also to provide instructions on how to use & customize them, as well as download links for all images used!
please read the instructions and faq page where i explain how they work, and when you're ready, click on the phone containing the widget you want. don't forget to tag me if u post a pic of your final version, i'd love to see!! ♡

INSTRUCTIONS

step one: download app WIDGY on the app store (its free)
step two: save the qr code image of the widget you want to use!
step three: open widgy; under actions, click import widgy. click important qr code from album.
step four: click edit as copy. now you can edit the features and add or remove certain ones!
step five: when you're satisfied with the look, exit the widget (it will save when you leave). click the manage tab at the bottom and add the widgy to a slot according to size (if you want more than a few widgets you need to upgrade to premium which i believe is like $3).
step six: close the app, hold down your homescreen so it wiggles and add widget like you normally would! (this obv requires ios 14 btw!). experiment w placement w your apps and enjoy ur new widget ^_^

TO MAKE IT TRANSPARENT/INSERT YOUR WALLPAPER
widgy has changed the transparency to make it slightly easier. when you open a widget for the first time, a popup should appear telling you to add your wallpaper. to do so, exit the app and hold down your homescreen as if youre gonna move apps around. when it starts wiggling, slide to an empty page and take a screenshot. it is important that you do it this way as the app will show an error message if you dont insert a screenshot!. basically, the widget is "transparent", that is, it has your wallpaper saved so it can look transparent. if youre trying to change a solid color bg to a transparent bg, remove the color layer (at the bottom of the image list), insert new image layer, resize it so it covers the entire widget, click the image tab and scroll down to transparent background. remember to make sure this layer is at the bottom or it will cover all ur other elements.

FAQ

q: when importing the widget, the images you used are gone!
a: widgy doesnt let you share the images (as far as i know), so the image elements are still there, but not the pictures. that's why i've included links to save the images i used, in case you wish to use the same ones!

q: how do i add the pics properly?
a: click on the image layer (tip: click the eye icon to toggle visibility for each layer, it makes it easier to find which image element youre trying to change. your last clicked layer will have a small dot next to it), click on the image tab. choose either image library for non-transparent pics, or image library (with PNG transparency) if youre trying to add pics w/ transparent bgs!.

q: i dont like the colors/emojis/fonts/etc. can i customize elements?
a: YES!. these are fully customizable. the app takes a lil while to get used to, but you can change out symbols, colors, text, fonts, emojis, and of course placement of elements. YOU CAN ALSO CHANGE THE WIDGET SIZE, BUT KEEP IN MIND ELEMENTS WILL JUMP AROUND SO U WILL HAVE TO MANUALLY FIX IT. play around with it!

q: are there more text types?
a: yes!! there are a bunch besides system info & weather, such as horoscope, date, exchange rates, health, system network etc etc etc. clicking on a text layer and going to the data tab will show the options. if youre feeling advanced, you can also insert custom javascript here.

q: is this an ad for widgy/do i have to leave credit/ who made the pics you included etc?
a: 1) no LOL i just like making these for fun and figured id make a carrd explaining the process cus it was confusing to me at first! im a real person and am not trying to push this app on ppl i just like how it makes my phone look #swag
2) you don't need to credit me, if you do repost please link the carrd / leave credit even if u edit the widgets a bit! please tag me tho if u post a pic of one u used bc i'd looove to see how u customize it!!🥺
3) the pics ive used are usually from pinterest. ive linked the source where possible and i try to avoid using artwork and stuff that cant be traced back to the original artist / that the artist doesnt want reposted. please message me if credit is missing and you can help!. as for kpop pics, i try not to use fansite pics as they are sometimes very legally difficult to use (idk if thats the word but yea). i do not claim these images as my own unless otherwise stated!!

q: wondering sth else technical
a: the widgy subreddit is where u can find all types of technical support and ask for help. here u can also check other ppls homescreens for inspo and learn when updates will be coming!

NOTES
in order to use functions such as health, weather, and similar, you will need to give the app access to that data on your phone (e.g location for weather to show).

please note!!
widgy currently doesnt have a reminders element. in some of my widgets, i have reminders of things that are more long-term that dont really need checking off - these are regular text boxes where i have written my "reminder" manually. you cannot tick these off like in a reminder app. i just put them because they mean sth to me (e.g "remember to drink water!" "you matter" etc).

ALL-IN-ONE W/ PINK
this widget has pretty much everything u might need - the original creator of this widget is u/anwaryazid, i simply modified it and removed some info i didn't like, changed some placements and colors etc, but full credit goes to them!
transparent? no YES (i forgot to create the qr code when my bg was taeyong, so thats why the bg in the qr code pic is different. sry abt that T_T)

note: when i used this widget i used some png custom icons for some apps, these arent in the preview but i've included them in the download folder! (note they r not transparent but have a white bg, u can edit this in most editing apps)

SPOTIFY PLAYLIST
a widgy meant to look like a spotify playlist ! modeled after how playlists look in the ios app.

note: these r 2 separate widgets and together they use up one page in your homescreen. the large one is the "header"/how a spotify playlist looks with the cover and all! if u wish to only have the "playlist"/"songs", only download the medium widget and enlarge it to a size large. all "song" layers are created as separate groups, so you can simply duplicate one and move down to get more "songs" (aka display more info in the widgy!)
note 2 u can obviously change the playlist name and cover image. for "username" below the playlist title i used my name + my twitter icon. so change to whatever u want!

INSTAGRAM PROFILE
this is a pack of widgys that together make ur homescreen look like an instagram profile!

note: the medium widget is just the profile info and can be omitted if u dont want it. the info (weather etc) is included as "post captions" to the "instagram posts" - one small widgy = one instagram post and one set of information. you can of course add more to one "caption" if you so wish. one medium widgy + 4 small ones fit on one homescreen page.
note 2 i used taeyong's instagram profile for this one, but u can ofc make one up (like u would in a carrd) and make it aesthetic instead♡ note 3 i am only including the qr code for one of the small widgets as they are all identical except for the caption and actual image - to edit the caption data, click the text > data and choose a different source.
